Armed miscreants loot bank staff

Chhatia:  In a broad daylight dacoity, unidentified miscreants armed with handguns looted about Rs 81,000 from three Bandhan Bank employees in Jajpur district. The incident took place Thursday afternoon near Genguti river at Padmanavapur village under Chhatia bit house of Byree police limits in this district.

The victims have been identified as Suman Maiti, Swapna Sagar Behera and Preetam Sinha. They are all employees of Byree branch of the bank.

According to the employees, the incident took place when they were returning from Gokulpur village under Gobindapur-Magura area of Cuttack district after collecting money from local self help groups (SHGs).

Three unidentified miscreants waiting there with a motorcycle pushed Suman Maity making him fall on the ground. They snatched the cash bag from him on gunpoint. While Suman fled towards Padmanavpur to save his life, the miscreants pushed motorcycles of Swapna Sagar and Preetam as well who were trailing Suman a little behind.

Preetam sustained injuries on his head after one of the accused hit him on his head. The dacoits snatched a cash bag from Swapna Sagar and fled towards Magura.
