Ashis, Sarojini take top honours

Winners of Odisha State Shooting Championship pose with their certificates along with guests in Bhubaneswar, Sunday      

Bhubaneswar: Ashis Nayak and Sarojini Nayak of Bhubaneswar emerged champions in the senior men’s and women’s categories of the VIIIth Odisha State Shooting Championships, which concluded at the Utkal Karate School here Sunday.

In the senior men’s category Bhabani Prasad Haiburu of Bhubaneswar finished runner-up while his citymate Mohit Kumar Paswan stood third.

In the senior women’s category Kiranprava Nayak of Khurda clinched the silver medal and city girl Gouri Mohanty bagged the bronze medal.

In the junior men’s segment Aayushmaan Naik of Sambalpur clinched the title. Sruti Sourav Behera of Bhubaneswar finished runner-up and his citymate Nishikant Kar secured the third position.

In the junior women’s category Kashika Pradhan of Bhubaneswar emerged champion and her citymate Anjali Reddy finished runner-up. Orissa Rifle Association secretary Hari Prasad Patnaik coordinated the programme.
