Ashram driver, cousin arrested

Bhubaneswar, August 17: A Special Task Force (STF) of Bihar Police arrested a driver of Balakati-based Trahi Achyuta Ashram and his accomplice from Balipatna here Monday.
Police said the accused have 36 criminal cases pending against them in Bihar.
The accused were identified as Manjit Saha (36) and his cousin Abhay Kumar (47), natives of Samastipur district in Bihar and were staying at Trahi Achyutanagar at Balipatna on the city outskirts.
Several criminal cases, including murder, dacoity and arms smuggling, were pending against them with Bihar police. They were charged under Sections 302 (murder), 307 (attempt to murder), 149 and 148 (unlawful assembly) of IPC and section 3/4 of the Explosive Substance Act.   
“Manjit had left Bihar almost 20 years ago and his cousin joined him five years later. It took five days to get both of them together,” one of the STF officers told Orissa Post.
The STF will have to seek transit remand from the court to take the accused to Bihar.
