Bhubaneswar: A day after Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhy was named State Election Commissioner (SEC), state government Thursday appointed senior IAS officer Asit Kumar Tripathy as the new Chief Secretary of the state.
Tripathy, a 1986 batch officer, is currently serving as Home Secretary, Development Commissioner and chief administrator of KBK districts.
A notification issued by the state government said that senior IAS Suresh Mohapatra will be the next Development Commissioner. He will hold additional charge as working chairperson of Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA).
IAS Pradipta Kumar Mohapatra has been appointed Agriculture Product Commissioner.
The notification added that the above orders would take effect beginning August 19, 2019.
Retired IAS R Balakrishnan who serves as chief advisor special initiatives will also function as chief advisor Chief Minister’s Office with immediate effect. Besides, Works Secretary Krishan Kumar in addition to his duties has also been appointed as chief administrator of SJTA.
