ASME’s student chapter in VSSUT

Burla: The VSS University of Technology (VSSUT) opened a club of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), New York for the benefit of students of mechanical engineering in the varsity, a report said Tuesday.

Vice-chancellor Atal Choudury and Dean Sudhanshu Sekhar Das inaugurated the club at the Sir Visveswaraya Auditorium in the presence of students and faculty members.

“A truly global professional association, ASME VSSUT student chapter here will work towards conducting effective technical courses, trainings and seminars to update students on latest technological advancements,” said student co-chair KR Satyajit of the university.

The team will soon be initiating an ASME VSSUT lecture series which will educate students on diverse issues on technology and management.

A live global conference from Dubai with Prof Emamul Haque and with board of governors of ASME was organised on this occasion along with launching of the official logo ASME VSSUT student chapter.

Profs. Harish Kumar Sahoo, Prashant Nanda, Kiran Kumar Ekka, Layatitdev Das, Nikesh Kumar Mishra, student secretary Ankita Meher, treasurer Shakti Prasad Mohanty, PR head Anjali Sahu and hospitality head Aastha Agrawal, were present on the occasion.
