Rourkela: The postmortem report of assistant collector Susmita Minz has put aside all speculations and allegations of foul play in her death as it has ruled out any murder angle and cited this as a case of drowning.

Plant Site PS IIC Jyoti Ranjan Pati informed that the post-mortem report negated all such speculations. “This is a case of simple drowning. There were no signs of physical or sexual assault,” said the police official.

Susmita, an ORS officer, was working as an assistant collector here and was posted to the local ADM’s office. She was a competent officer and reportedly had a disturbed family life. She had her divorce hearing September 16. She remained a little disturbed and was under immense work pressure, as her family members complained. Every day she was travelling to Rourkela from Ramabahal in Rajgangpur, her ancestral home.

Minz went missing from September 16. Her family members lodged a missing complaint at the Uditnagar PS. Later she was traced to Hotel Radhika Regency, where she was staying. Despite her family calling her back home she stayed in the hotel and attended her office. On September 19, her body was found floating in the small pond of Sensory Park.
