Rourkela: The Odisha Vigilance officials Tuesday conducted raids at the residence of Narayan Pradhan, an assistant engineer with Public Health division in Sundargarh district on charge of amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income, the Vigilance sources said.
About 40 anti-corruption wing officials are conducting the raids simultaneously at the several places including Pradhan’s house and official quarters.
An official said, “The simultaneous searches are being carried out on the strength of the search warrants issued by the Special judge vigilance, Sundargarh.”
Since the raids are underway, the total value of assets the assistant engineer possesses is yet to be ascertained. However, the searches so far revealed that he owns a farm house at Kendughat, a plot worth Rs 25 lakh in Sambalpur and plots in Jatni area of Khurda and Deogarh district.
In a similar development, anti-corruption wing officials carried out raids at the residence of an assistant teacher of S. Routpur School of Labanyagarh panchayat under Goshani block in Gajapati district Tuesday.
The teacher under vigilance scanner is Dushmant Nayak and eight places connecting to Nayak are being raided simultaneously on charge of accumulating assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
Notably, the last to come under vigilance sleuths’ scanner was Muribahal ranger Prashant Nayak in Bolangir district. The officials had carried out simultaneous raids on his houses and office on charge of amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income December 3.
