Bhubaneswar: At least 20 percent of the existing vehicles in government offices will be replaced with EVs on lease rental as per the conditions laid down by the Energy department.
All the departments have to submit the required specifications of EVs for their respective offices to Odisha Renewable Energy Development Agency (OREDA), which will help them in assessing the requirements and the supply chain.
The monthly rental of EVs will be notified by the Finance department on the recommendation of the technical committee under the chairmanship of Transport Commissioner.
The policy has been mandated under the Odisha Electric Vehicle Policy, 2021, for adoption of EVs in government offices on priority basis.
In this connection, OREDA has been authorized to act as an aggregator for fulfilling the demand from various government departments/agencies to provide EV fleet services after selecting vehicle manufacturers through competitive bidding.
