ATM loot bid foiled in City

Bhubaneswar: Miscreants were failed in their ATM loot attempt as police reached the spot at the nick of time late Wednesday night. The looters fled the place, leaving their instruments as the PCR van-16 of Khandagiri police which was patrolling in the area reached there.

According to sources, at around 1.30 am Wednesday, the police control room received a phone call from the head office of the bank in Mumbai about some unlawful activities being carried out in the ATM kiosk at Satyasai Women’s College under Khandagiri police limits. The miscreants, with their faces covered, had partially succeeded in making a dent on the ATM with their gas cutters.

It may be mentioned here that the cops who foiled the loot bid were the ones who were felicitated by police commissioner Satyajit Mohanty for averting a road mishap and saving lives of schoolchildren at Bharatpur Square a few days ago.
