Authorities open two sluice gates of Indravati

Tentulikhunti: Two of the sluice gates of Deopali dam at Indravati hydro electricity project on Indravati river in this block of Nabarangpur district were opened Thursday afternoon to release excess flood water.

Prior to opening of the gates, the water level of the reservoir stood at 639.80 meters. While gate no-6 was opened to release waters up to two metres, gate no-2 was opened to release waters up to one and a half metres.

While 254.95 cusecs of water is entering into the reservoir, 180 cusec of water is being released through gate no-6, it was learnt.

Chief engineer Lambodar Pradhan, chief construction engineer Gopal Chandra Das along with other engineers and employees were present when the gates were opened. Later collector Ajit Kumar Mishra, block development officer Akshamita Kartik and Tentulikhunti tehsildar Pradeep Kar held a meeting with the engineers on this context.
