Awareness vehicles on road safety flagged off

Rourkela: Two awareness vehicles titled ‘Suraksha Raths’ were flagged off near the office building of the executive director (Works) of Rourkela Steel Plant by SR Suryawanshi, ED (Works) to create mass awareness on road safety in the presence of chief general managers and head of the departments. Speaking on the occasion Suryawanshi highlighted the importance of human life in the context of road accidents. He urged everyone to abide by the road safety norms and motivate others to do the same both within the plant premises and outside for their own betterment, family, friends, co-workers, and society as a whole.

A skit on road safety was staged by K Mohanty, senior technician (T&RM), and his team while a signature campaign aimed at spreading awareness was also undertaken. Kartikeya Behera., (CRM, SSM & PP), Ravi Ranjan, CGM (Design & Shops), and K K Sengupta, CGM (C&IT) administered a pledge on road safety to all the workers and staff. The two vehicles were decked up with colourful posters highlighting safety rules and road safety signage. The staff of various departments also formed human chains aimed at spreading awareness among the people on road safety. The events were conducted by the safety engineering department under the guidance of MNVS Prabhakar, CGM (Services), Asha Kartha, GM Incharge (Safety) and Abkash Behera, GM (Safety).
