Bhubaneswar: After a brief lull of two days, the state government Saturday said a fresh case of COVID-19 has been detected in Balasore district.

With this, the coronavirus tally in the state has touched 61.
The government meanwhile also said that it has been able to see more recovery of patients Saturday. A statement from the Information and Public Relations (I&PR) Department said, “A total of 8619 samples have been tested in the state as of now out of which the number of positive cases stand at 61. The state has now 36 active cases while 103 are under hospital isolation,”
According to state health department, out of the 61 cases by Saturday evening, 24 people have recovered with three of these recovered being discharged from a Bhubaneswar based hospital Saturday. With one person dead, the state now has 36 active cases of the global pandemic.
Three more positive cases of COVID 19 in Odisha, all from Bhubaneswar, have recovered and are being discharged.
With this the total recoveries of the State stand at 24.

The government meanwhile also said that the number of persons booked for violating lockdown orders and COVID-19 rules has also reduced.
A statement by the state government said, “From 17th April morning to 18th April morning, 73 cases have been registered by the police in the state for violations of different regulations and guidelines related to COVID-19 of which 69 cases are for violation of lockdown, one case for violation of ‘home quarantine’ and three cases have been registered for other related issues. A total 67 persons have been arrested by police for different violations,”
