Bhubaneswar: The district administration, along with several other stakeholders, has stepped up efforts to ensure a hassle-free Bali Yatra on the Kuakhai riverbank starting November 23.
A preparatory meeting held in this regard, Thursday, decided to hold the annual trade fiesta at Jaripatna village near Kuakhai riverbank.
“The district administration will leave no stone unturned to ensure a smooth conduct of the maritime trade fare. Stakeholders have been asked to extend the best possible support towards organising the event,” said a senior administrative official who attended the meeting at the Circuit House here.
Bhubaneswar-North MLA Priyadarshi Mishra attended the meet as the guest of honour, while district Collector Nirmal Chandra Mishra was the speaker.
Besides, stakeholders including members of Bhubaneswar Bali Yatra Committee, Bhubaneswar additional district magistrate as well as senior officials of Cesu, Fire Services department, National Green Tribunal and, Revenue and Disaster Management department also attended the meet.
It may be mentioned here that Bali Yatra, which is traditionally a festival held in Cuttack, was held in Bhubaneswar for the first time last year.
