Baliapal dhaba death: BJP’s 12-hr strike paralyses life in town

Baliapal:  A dawn to dusk bandh call given by Balasore unit of BJP in Baliapal over a minor boy’s alleged death in a local roadside eatery here brought the town to a standstill.

Protesting against sluggish investigation into the case, the BJP demanded faster probe of the case and harsh punishment to the accused.

Markets, shops, business establishments, schools and colleges have remained closed. Vehicular movement has seriously been affected as the agitators were seen picketing at important junctions of the town.

Five platoons of police have been deployed to avoid any law and order situation. Twenty police officers led by Basta sub divisional police officer (SDPO) are monitoring the situation.

It may be mentioned here that the body of a minor boy was recovered from a roadside ‘dhaba’ here where he used to work. His family members and locals had alleged that his employers had murdered him and attempted to cover it up as a case of suicide.
