Nuapada: Normal life was paralysed in Komna block of Nuapada district following a dawn-to-dusk bandh here Friday. The bandh, in protest against unscheduled power cuts, was sponsored by several youth associations.
Shops, markets as also government and private offices remained closed. Trucks and other heavy vehicles were off the road. However, in view of the Matric supplementary examination Friday, passenger buses were kept out of the bandh’s purview.
Frequent and undeclared power cuts are affecting normal life in the area for quite some time now. Complaints to the authorities have not had any effect.
