Bargarh: Nihar Ranjan Pradhan of Jharpali village under Ambabhona block in Bargarh district has been selected to join the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) in Bangalore as a research scientist. Nihar said he got the intimation recently from ISRO and he will join the organisation in January.

Nihar is the youngest son of father Rajkumar Pradhan and Pankajini. The family ekes out their living from farming. Locals said that Nihar from his childhood had expressed keen interest towards science. He frequently used to make models of various scientific products.
After completing his primary schooling from the village, Nihar studied at Kedarnath Adivasi High School at Ambabhona in this district. He cracked the JEE Main and Advanced and took admission at the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST) at Trivandrum. He did his B.Tech course in aerospace engineering.
“I got selected as a research scientist in ISRO for my excellent performance in IIST absorption drive. I came out successful in my career, owing to the stress-free study atmosphere and career options provided by my family,” the young scientist said.
