You have to pay attention to many things while planning pregnancy. But do you know or have you ever thought that your daily intake of soft drinks can affect your chances of having a baby.

Couples planning pregnancy should avoid drinking these beverages. These beverages act to spoil health.

Soda and diet drinks are among the most popular beverages consumed by fertile men and women. Research has shown that drinking one soda every day reduces the fertility power of both men and women by about 20 to 25 percent monthly. Its effects are not limited to only natural pregnancy, but it also hinders fertility treatments like IUI and IVF. Studies have found that high intake of soda reduces the ability of fertility in both men and women. Sperm count decreases in men who regularly consume soda, which affects fertility.

Besides, soda is an acidic drink that changes the pH level of the body which further affects fertility. Let me tell you that aspartame is an artificial softener that is used in most soft drinks. It can alter the functioning of the glands present in the body and is responsible for hormonal imbalance. The consumption of excess soda can lead to the creation of free radicals, which causes many sperm and eggs to deteriorate. Apart from this, most soft drinks are rich in caffeine which reduces bleeding during periods. In such a situation, the fertility of women becomes weak.

Disadvantages:

1. It contains a lot of sugar, which can cause excessive weight gain, obesity, poor digestion, which is very bad for fertility.

2. They are full of chemicals like additives, preservatives, cholesterol, which are bad for fertility.

3. Soda intake disrupts the hormonal levels in the body, including estrogen, which can spoil the planning of pregnancy.

4. Drinking soda and soft drinks is like a drug. It negatively affects the health of the stomach, the strength of bone, and various organs of the body.
