Raisuan: The government has made provision of free treatment of poor and economically disadvantaged sections, but a poor tribal woman, Budhuni Tudu, in remote Similisahi village in Baradapl panchayat in Keonjhar district has been bedridden for the last two years.
Sans treatment, she is numbering her days. Her husband Thakur Tudu is a daily wager. Both eked out a living from odd jobs. Due to old age, they are now unable to go out.
Thakur has sold a patch of land for treatment of his wife at the district headquarters hospital. Doctors had referred her to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack. The couple has none to take care of. Budhuni lies on bed while Thakur is too broke to spend for her medical expenses.
Locals urged the administration to take notice of Buduni’s plight and provided her treatment.
