Begunia murder prime suspect held

Begunia: A man was arrested Wednesday on charges of killing a woman under Begunia police limits here Tuesday. The accused was identified as Suresh Pradhan of Bankapalli village.

According to sources, one Parbati Paramanik, 38, of the village under Bolagarh block had gone to the courtyard for some household work where she had an argument with Suresh over past enmity Tuesday. Hearing the heated exchanges, Suresh’s wife Sulochana and his son Dipu along with seven to eight persons reached there and attacked Parbati with wooden planks. Being informed, Parbati’s two sons and sister-in-law Rebati reached the spot and opposed them, but they were also not spared.

Later, locals sent them to hospital where doctor declared Parbati ‘brought dead’ while the other three were sent to a private hospital in Bhubaneswar.

Suresh was sent to Khurda SDJM court after his bail plea was rejected, said the police who registered a case (12/19) under Sections of 294 (obscene acts), 302 (commits murder), 307 (attempts to murder), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 34 of IPC and began a probe.
