Bengaluru returnee found dead in Bhadrak, wife alleges murder

Bhadrak: The body of a man was found hanging from a tree in a forest near Kantipuradia village under Basudevpur block of Bhadrak district Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as Kailash Majhi, 38, from the district.

According to a source, some woodcutters from Basudevpur area spotted the body Tuesday morning while they were on the way to the forest for collecting firewood. They discovered the body and informed the police regarding the incident.

One being informed police reached the spot and started a probe. During the course of investigation, police came to know that the Majhi had returned home from Bengaluru recently. He had an altercation with his younger brother and uncle Monday night.

Post dinner Majhi and his wife went to sleep. Tuesday morning, when Majhi’s wife woke up she didn’t find Majhi. Later in the day, she learnt about her husband’s death from the cops.

Majhi’s wife has alleged that her husband was murdered.

The cops, meanwhile, have recovered the body and sent it for postmortem. A detailed probe into the incident is underway.
