Paralakhemundi: Berhampur MP Chandrasekhar Sahu of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has allegedly slapped a young leader in full public view during a party meeting held in Paralakhemundi in Gajapati district Tuesday.
At an executive meeting of the BJD, where a huge crowd including party leaders, workers, and the general public had gathered, the 69-year-old Parliamentarian slapped Sangram Keshari Sahu, ex-president of Congress district unit.
According to reports, the incident took place Sunday. The MP purportedly lost his cool and assaulted the young leader as he had apparently failed to follow his instructions.
This incident took place when Sangram went up on the stage and a party leader offered him a shawl as a formality. Instead of wearing the shawl, Sangram offered the same to the MP. But the Parliamentarian got angry at this gesture for reasons best known to him and gave him a slap in return.
