Berhampur: ITI Berhampur, which has created a name for itself in the society for its innovations, has developed a new product called ‘Sand Cleaning Tool’. The ‘Sand Cleaning Tool’ developed by ITI students can be used to clean the sea beaches. This manual sea beach cleaner is eco- friendly easy to use and cost effective, sources said Monday.
According to Ganjam Collector Vijay Amrut Kulange, thousands of such machines can be used throughout the beaches of the state to keep those clean. The students of this ITI have helped a lot in the movement of district administration to get the Blue Flag Beach tag for Gopalpur beach.
This cleaner is low weight, easy to handle and cleans up to 1,000 sq ft of the beach in an hour. The manufacturing cost of the toll is around Rs 4,000.
“It is a new innovation by the institute in the new year. It will make the ongoing cleanliness drive at the famous Gopalpur beach easier,” said institute principal Dr Rajat kumar Panigrahy.
Kulange launched the unique sand cleaning tool Monday in presence of Berhampur Sub-Collector, Keerthi Vasan V and Panigrahy. Kulange highly appreciated the efforts of the students in developing the new concept. The cleanness will attract tourists and increase tourism in the area, he said.
