Bhadrak: Two more courts will be opened in Bhadrak. The state government has requested the High Court for its permission.
Cases of civil nature are on the rise in the district. Keeping this in view, the secretary of the law department has written to the High Court December 17 to grant permission to open an additional district judge court, and an additional senior civil judge court in the district. The secretary made it clear to the court that necessary infrastructure has been put in place.
It was learnt that 23,607 civil cases and 44,340 criminal cases have been pending in courts in the district.
The district has nine courts to deal with civil cases and 12 courts to deal with criminal cases.
Lawyer Gadadhar Bal said with opening of two more courts, the pending cases will be tried expeditiously.
