Bhadrak: Bhadrak district’s COVID-19 tally is inching towards the 3,000-mark as the district’s tally has gone up to 2099 following the detection of 92 fresh cases in the last 24 hours.
What has been the cause of headache for the district administration is that none of the fresh cases were reported from quarantine centres. All the patients have contracted the virus locally.
Of the fresh cases, 23 were reported from Chandbali block, followed by Bhadrak municipality (18), Basudevpur block( 17), Tihidi block (13), Basudevpur municipality, Bhadrak block and Dhamnagar block (four each), Bhandaripokhari block (two) and Bonth block and Dhamnagar NAC (one each). The remaining five cases were out of the district.
At the same time, the district also reported 24 new recoveries. The process to shift all patients to COVID hospitals is underway.
With the fresh detection and recoveries, a total of 1,108 patients in the district have so far recovered from the disease and 985 patients are still undergoing treatment. The pandemic has so far claimed six lives.
