Dharmasala: The district administration sealed and imposed Section-144 on an illegal guesthouse from where Haridaspur PEO Smitarani Biswal’s body was recovered Friday. The administration has pitched red flag on the illegal building.

The house is reportedly owned by Rupesh Bhadra, husband of sarpanch Madhusmita Bhadra of Haridaspur panchayat.  Rupesh was arrested on charge of his involvement in the death of PEO Biswal.

According to sources, the eviction drive began this morning in presence of Dharmasala IIC. Adequate police forces have been deployed around the guesthouse to prevent any unpleasant situation

Jajpur Collector Ranjan Kumar Das said the allegation that the building was constructed on government land was found true.

“As per Tehsildar’s report, the guesthouse was constructed illegally on a patch of government land and it will be demolished soon after completion of police investigation. The eviction order has been already issued in this regard,” the Collector told mediapersons.

Besides, the district administration also imposed restrictions on the entry of people into the guesthouse and Section 144 was clamped on the area.
