Bharat Gaurav tourist trains: Rourkelaites to board from Ranchi

Rourkela: Indian Railways introduced the concept of operating tourist trains on theme-based circuits under the banner of Bharat Gaurav Tourist Trains.

Residents of Rourkela city will have the opportunity to be a part of two such tours in separate months. However, they have to board the train from Ranchi, it was learnt.

The two circuits that are going to be covered, starting from Kolkata are – Ajmer to Jaipur and Vaishno Devi along with other religious places in the north.

The Ajmer circuit is known as Royal Rajasthan tour and the other is Vaishno Devi and north India.

The Vaishno Devi tour will start  August 11 and will wind up after 10 nights and 11 days. The charges per person are – Rs17,700 for sleeper, Rs27,400 (standard) and Rs30,300 (comfort) for AC-3 tier.

Those who prefer to avail comfort class in AC-3 tier will get air-conditioned accommodations at all the destinations that include AC buses and hotel rooms.

The Royal Rajasthan tour will start November 8 and will come to an end after 11 nights and 12 days. The charges per person are Rs20, 650 in sleeper, Rs30,960 (standard) and Rs34,110 (comfort) for AC-3-tier.

Speaking to the media, chief supervisors of IRCTC Kinker Roy Choudhury and Nikhil Prasad informed about many other features of the tour. “The government is providing 30% subsidy on every head and only veg foods, three times a day, will be provided during the tour,” informed Kinker. And if there is a group consisting of twenty-one persons, then one person can travel absolutely free, he added.
