Bhubaneswar Central MLA Ananta Narayan Jena tests positive for COVID-19

Bhubaneswar: Former Bhubaneswar Mayor and current Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) of Bhubaneswar Central Ananta Narayan Jena tested positive for COVID-19, Thursday.

“Feeling the COVID-19 symptoms, I got the test done & reported corona virus positive. I am fine & home quarantined,” Jena informed on his official Twitter account.

Jena also requested to his friends who had come in contact with him last week to home quarantine themselves and take the COVID-19 test.

It may be noted here that Jena is the sixth legislator in the state to have contracted the deadly virus. Earlier, three MLAs of Nilagiri, Remuna, Salepur, Khandapada and Bhatli constituencies tested positive for COVID-19.

Odisha Thursday reported 2,898 new COVID-19 cases, taking the total tally in the state to 70,020. Eight more fatalities took the death toll across the state to 380. Out of the 2,898 new cases, 1,792 were reported from quarantine centres while 1,106 are local contacts.
