Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar DCP office, located at Vani Vihar Square, was shut for the public Tuesday after many of its employees tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours.
The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) closed the DCP office for two days — January 4 and 5 — to prevent the spread of the deadly virus.
The DCP office premises will be sanitised in accordance with the guidelines issued by the State Government and the Government of India, according to a release issued Tuesday by the BMC southeast zone.
According to the guidelines, no one will be allowed to move into or from outside the premises of DCP office during the period of sealing except authorised personnel of BMC.

The infected employees have been directed to remain in isolation at their respective residences. If any positive case needs medical attention, the authorities of DCP Office are to intimate the same to the BMC.
According to a source, multiple COVID cases were detected at the DCP Office in Bhubaneswar following a significant increase in single-day infections reported in Odisha in the last 24 hours.
Following Monday’s testing, the state recorded 680 daily COVID cases with a TPR of 1.33 per cent.
