Bhubaneswar: Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Tuesday said that six more people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the city in past 24 hours.
While one of them is a home quarantine case, the remaining five are local contact ones.
Of the five local contacts, three cases – 15 years, 60 years (both female) and a 15-year-male – are from Buxibazar slum under Siripur area. They are linked to a previous case who tested COVID positive. A 13-year-old male belongs to Bomikhal Canal Road area and has links to another person who tested positive earlier. The third one is a 32 years old male from Chandrasekharpur BDA colony.
The home quarantine person is a 56-year-old male railway staff with a travel history to Delhi.
“Further contact tracing is still continuing. Primary contacts & nearby houses are being quarantined, sanitised and will be under active surveillance,” BMC said. It further added that all positive cases have been shifted to dedicated COVID hospitals.

According to a notification issued by the civic body, as of Tuesday, 320 persons have tested positive for COVID-19 in Bhubaneswar out of which 185 have recovered. While there are 130 active cases, four persons succumbed to the disease.
