Bhubaneswar reports 11 new COVID-19 cases

Bhubaneswar: Bhubaneswar reported 11 new COVID-19 cases Monday, taking the total number of patients in the capital city to 196.

According to the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), six cases, all males aged 21, 22, 30, 33, 40 and 55 years old, are Uttar Pradesh natives. They were working in Mancheswar area, near Pratidin News office. They had returned from Uttar Pradesh June 10.

Of the rest, three patients are Railway Department staff. They are all males aged 28, 38 and 60 years old. They all have travel history to New Delhi.

Of the remaining two cases, one is a 27 years old male and is a native of West Bengal. He had been working and residing in Mancheswar area, near Pratidin News office. He had returned from West Bengal June 11. The other one is a 33 years old male and also a native of West Bengal. He had been working as a construction worker in a construction site in the Vani Vihar area. He had returned from West Bengal June 11.

With the fresh detection of COVID-19 patients, the number of active cases in the city has one up to 99. However, 93 patients have so far recovered from the disease. The city has so far reported three deaths due to the pandemic.
