Bhuvi, Shami stall Aussies

Shaun Marsh scored a brilliant century for Australia

Adelaide: Bhuvneshwar Kumar (4/45) and Mohammed Shami (3/58) came back nicely at the death after Australia had threatened to take total control in the second ODI of the three-game series at the Adelaide Oval here, Tuesday.

Opting to bat first, Australia looked poised for a total of 325-plus with Shaun marsh (131, 123b, 11×4, 3×6) and Glenn Maxwell (48, 37b, 5×4, 1×6) putting on 94 runs for the sixth wicket in a little over 10 overs. However, once Bhuvneshwar got rid of the dangerous looking Maxwell in the 47th over, Australia lost wickets at regular intervals to finish on 298 for nine in 50 overs.

Mohammed Siraj (0/76) had a made ODI debut while spinner Kuldeep Yadav (0/66) for once failed to be in the wickets column. Marsh batted brilliantly for Australia, but before Maxwell did not have support from the other end.
