Mumbai: Hindi film actress Shilpa Shetty’s husband and businessman Raj Kundra has got a huge relief in the adult movie case.
The Bombay High Court Wednesday granted four week’s protection to Raj Kundra from arrest in connection with the one of many cases involving allegations of shooting and streaming the contents.
Earlier, Kundra had sought anticipatory bail in the FIR lodged by the Mumbai Police Cyber Crime Cell in connection with the alleged p*rn racket case, claiming he was falsely implicated.
He further contended that there is no evidence to link him against the HotShot App and was being made a `scapegoat’. However, late July 19, Kundra was nabbed in a similar complaint registered by the Crime Branch in 2021 for which he was sent to custody.
Last week, after a lower court rejected his anticipatory bail plea, he moved the Bombay HC which has granted him interim relief against arrest.
Raj Kundra was arrested in alleged film production and distribution of adult contents in July this year. Earlier this month he also deleted his social media accounts and since then has been keeping a low profile.
Raj’s wife and actress Shilpa Shetty was also reportedly questioned while their Juhu bungalow was raided by the Mumbai Police.
Later on, Shilpa Shetty issued a statement on social media, maintaining that she will refrain from commenting on the case, “Yes! The past few days have been challenging, on every front. There have been a lot of rumours and accusations. A lot of unwarranted aspersions on me cast by the media and (not so) well wishers as well. A lot of trolling/questions posed… not only to me but also to my family. MY STAND… I HAVE NOT COMMENTED YET and will continue to refrain from doing so on this case as it is subjudice, so please stop attributing false quotes on my behalf. Reiterating my philosophy of, as a celebrity “Never complain, never explain”.
