Khandapara: Four-bike borne miscreants stole Rs 50,000 by breaking open the box of another two-wheeler belonging to the principal of Ghanasalia Higher Secondary School and escaped in broad daylight. The incident took place Thursday near Badabanpur panchayat at Patana Chowk in Nayagarh district Thursday.
The principal was returning home after withdrawing cash from UCO bank when the incident happened. He had withdrawn Rs 49,043 out of which Rs 40,000 for his own expenses and the rest was for school expenditure.
The principal had stopped at a shop to eat when the miscreants broke open the side-box of his bike and decamped with the money. Along with it they also took four pass books and an ATM card.
Bystanders tried to alert the victim, but by then the miscreants had escaped. The principal immediately filed complaint (Case No. 145/19) at the Kantilo police outpost. The in-charge of the outpost Jay Prakash Parida reached the spot for investigation. However, no arrest has been made till the time of writing this copy.
