Bhubaneswar: Odisha Bikerni in association with Kalinga Motor Sports Club (KMSC) & Bikers Republic of Odisha (BRO) along with Biking Community of India (BCI) Sunday morning vroomed through the city to create awareness about molestation and educating bystanders to raise their voice against such crimes through their rally ‘Nation Wide ride against molestation’.
In addition to Bhubaneswar, the ride also was conducted in 19 other cities across the country at the same time. The objective of holding the rally is to control and stop molestations through awareness.
The event was flagged off by Priyadarshi Mishra, MLA, Bhubaneswar North, in the presence of other dignitaries including Rosalin Patasani (Founder, Parichay Foundation), Latika Pradhan (Chairperson, State Social Welfare Board), Kasturi Mohapatra (Director, OLS), Archana Patra (Director,Sandys Tower) and Sonal Soni (Director, Khimji).
Around 150 plus riders from Odisha Bikerni group, Kalinga Motor Sports Club and Biking Republic of Odisha (BRO) have participated in the rally along with other biking groups such as 3S Riders, TVS Apache RR310, The Moto Gearheadz and Triumph Odisha Riders Club.
The ride, which commenced from Hotel Sandy’s tower at Jaydev Vihar at 8:30 am and passed via Jayadev Vihar, Red Cross Square, Ram Mandir, Vani Vihar, Apollo Hospital Square, Kalinga Hospital Square, concluded at the same point at 9.15 am.
“We want to see our city molestation free.’Ride Against Molestation’ is not just a caption; it is an initiative by the entire riding community that we won’t tolerate this anymore. Apart from being a crime,
molestation makes a survivor’s life not worth living. All should support the cause,” a participant observed.
MLA Mishra said, “Laws are stringent but that is not sufficient. The evil would not be washed out from our society unless people get themselves involved for the cause,” said Mishra.
