Bikers caution against taking Race 3 to roads

Bhubaneswar, June 17: Salman Khan-starrer Eid release ‘Race 3’ is running to packed houses at multiplexes across the capital city. The action sequences in the movie, the creations of Hollywood stunt legend Tom Struthers, are visually compelling and bound to set the pulse of motorhead-fans racing.

But even amid all the fan frenzy, there was one group of bikers, xBhp Bhubaneswar, which had come to watch the movie at INOX with the message that the movie should not be taken for real and the stunts in it replayed on the streets of the capital city.

Fan clubs are sharing with gusto a clip from ‘Race 3’, wherein Sikander (portrayed by Salman Khan) does a stoppie and shoots at his enemies even as the bike swivels. But xBhp say bikes should be ridden safely, following rules.

Here is a compilation of what some members of the group had to further say about the movie and safe biking:

The stunts are good, but for God’s sake don’t re-enact them. There are thousands of people working behind such scenes. The movie showcases lives of a wealthy dysfunctional clan led by patriarch Shamsher Singh (Anil Kapoor), and his children — portrayed by Saqib Saleem, Daisy Shah and Salman Khan. They aren’t as united as they appear to be. When they are not indulging in pretentious ‘bro’ and ‘dude’ speak, they are scheming to kill one another for money. It’s supposed to be a giddy bullet-riddled action-adventure, much to amuse of the bikers as well as other movie goers.

The movie showcases some impossible scenes. They are simply not possible in real life. Youngsters should not follow them. They should just watch these and return home safe.

The xBhp Bhubaneswar group calls for safe riding and we have come here to watch the movie as well as to promote safe riding. Coming generations will follow our example, so we must always ride safe.

I was truly excited when we had planned to watch Salman bhai’s movie. God, the movie showcases some mind-boggling bike scenes. It is just that one can’t ride like that in real life. So watch ‘Race 3’, but don’t try the stunts.

Bikers are sensible people and we don’t attempt stunts such as the ones in ‘Race 3’. In fact, we have been promoting safe biking all along. So, let us hope our efforts to promote safe riding will help youngsters avoid risks.
