After splitting from Kalki Koechlin, the 47-year-old Anurag started dating Shubhra Shetty, a girl working in his production house, in 2015. At that time, Shubhra was only 21. However, the two have been together for the last four years.
Anurag and Shubhra kept their relationship, a secret for years. But during an interview last year, Anurag came out in the open about his love life. “Everyone needs to be in love at some stage or the other. I love the emotion of love. Even at 90, I’ll be in love,” Anurag was quoted as saying.
“There are many such songs in Hindi film industry made on heartbroken affairs. I am like ‘Ghungroo’. I believe in falling in love again instead of being heartbroken,” he further said.
Prior to his marriage with Kalki Koechlin, the director-actor was married to Aarti Bajaj. The two have a daughter. However, Anurag divorced Aarti in 2009. He then got married to Kalki Koechlin in 2013, but the two separated within two years. In May 2015, the two got divorced at the Bandra Family Court.
