Birthday boy Randeep Hooda even drove taxi for pocket money

Mumbai: Randeep Hooda was born August 20, 1976. Hailing from Haryana, Randeep has done very few films in Hindi film industry but his impact performances left a deep impression in the audience’s heart. The journey of the middle class boy to film industry was not so easy though.

Randeep’s father is a surgeon while his mother is a social worker. Randeep went to Melbourne, Australia for college where he drove a taxi for pocket money. Apart from this, he also worked in a restaurant and a car washing shop to earn money.

The handsome actor studied at the Motilal Nehru School in Sonepat. He has also learned swimming and horse riding and has also won several awards in the national arena. During this time, he inclined towards theatre and he started participating in school plays.

 

Since Randeep’s father and elder sister Anjali are doctors, so his family wanted him to become a doctor but he did his graduation in marketing and then pursued MBA. After returning to India, he worked for an airline company for some time.

 

Along with work, he started modelling and also joined a theatre group in Delhi. During the rehearsal of a play, film director Mira Nair got impressed with his acting skills and offered him his debut film ‘Monsoon Wedding’ in 2001. After this film, Randeep had to wait for four years for his next film which was Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘D’ in 2005, but it failed to attract the audience. He then appeared in a spate of critically and commercially unsuccessful projects.

 

Talking about Randeep’s film career, ‘Once Upon a Time in Mumbai’, ‘Highway’, ‘Sarbjit’, ‘Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster’, ‘Rang Rasiya’, ‘Murder 3’, ‘Do Lafzon Ki Kahani’ ‘Main Aur Charles’ ‘Sultan’ are in his kitty.
