BJD chalks out drive for 6L members

Balasore: The Biju Janata Dal’s extended executive body which met at Brit Kalyan Mandap here Tuesday set a target of enrolling 6 lakh members into the party.

Presided over by party’s district unit president Rabindra Kumar Jena, the meeting was attended by Panchyatiraj and Law Minister Pratap Jena as an observer.

MLAs Ananata Bas, Aswini Patra, Nityananada Sahu, Sudhansu Parida and Parsuram Dhada, ZP chairperson Ummilata Das, frontline leaders including functionaries of BJD youth wing, farmers’ wing, SC/ST and Minority cells members were present.

The district unit of the party has drawn a blueprint to enroll 100 members, four of them active members, in each ward of the municipality and sadar block. The leaders urged the party workers to make united efforts to launch the membership drive in the district by roping in five members in each NAC wards and 15 in municipality ward.

The leaders hoped that efforts would be made to ensure Aadhaar links of all the members.
