BJD infighting comes to fore before CM’s Chandbali visit

Bhadrak/Chandbali: The infighting among workers of BJD was reportedly evident before the visit of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to Chandbali in Bhadrak district Saturday.

According to sources, the followers of MLA Byomkesh Ray were waiting for the arrival of Patnaik at the venue. At the same time, another group allegedly opposed to Ray gathered and started a procession under the leadership of Pratap Dhal to receive the CM.

When the procession, started from Digochhia, was proceeding towards the venue, it was stopped about four kilometers from the venue.

The supporters of Ray allegedly hurled stones at the other group. They even attacked some workers with weapons. In view of the tense situation, security was beefed up at the venue.

CM Naveen Patnaik reached the venue and inaugurated and laid foundation stones for 36 projects.  Addressing the gathering, the CM termed the KALIA scheme as a historical one.
