BJD introduces 8 pvt members’ Bills

New Delhi: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) parliamentarians successfully introduced eight private members’ Bills in the Lok Sabha with the support of the majority of members Friday.

The private members’ bills as introduced by three party MPs included those moved by Cuttack MP Bhartruhari Mahtab (two); Balasore MP Rabindra Kumar Jena (four) and Bargarh MP Prabhas Kumar Singh (two).

Among the bills, Code of Civil Procedure (Amendment) Bill, 2018 (Substitution of new sections 35A and 35B), introduced by Mahtab sought amendments to the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908 to provide for imposition of punitive costs by courts in cases of false or vexatious claims or defences and for causing delays.

Similarly, Jena introduced the Employment Agencies (Regulation) Bill 2018 to regulate employment agencies to help domestic workers and in turn other employees seeking employment, apprenticeship or internship with employers indulged in legitimate occupation in order to enhance social security of employees.

BJD MP from Bargarh Prabhas Singh also introduced two bills in the house.
