Bhubaneswar: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) will soon take a stand on the no-confidence motion brought against the Modi government at the Center, which will be taken up for discussion in parliament Friday.
A meeting of the BJD Parliamentary Party presided over by its leader Bhartruhari Mahtab discussed the issue in the New Delhi Thursday.
Member of Parliament Prasanna Patsani said BJD president Naveen Patnaik has issued a whip asking all the party MPs to remain present during the debate on the no-trust motion in parliament. He said that all the party MPs decided to wait for the decision of the chief minister. “Whatever decision he takes on this issue will be carried out during the debate in parliament tomorrow,” he added.
It may be mention here that the BJD had backed the NDA government in the election of the President of India Ram Nath Kovind. However, it had openly opposed the election of the vice-president.
