Bhubaneswar: BJD president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Friday expanded the Biju Mahila Janata Dal with a view to strengthen women’s wing of the party at the grassroots level.
Following the recommendations of Biju Mahila Janata Dal (BMJD) president Pramila Mallick, Naveen has appointed three new vice-presidents, one general secretary, seven secretaries and presidents and executing presidents for three districts, party’s secretary Bijay Nayak said here Friday.
Bharati Das, Renubala Pradhan and Sagarika Mishra have been appointed as vice-presidents of BMJD, while Jyotirmayee Kabat is the new general secretary of the wing. Similarly, Shrabani Das, Seema Das, Tanuja Mohanty, Minati Debata, Usha Pradhan, Manasi Mahakud and Smutisudha Acharya have been appointed as secretary.
Besides, new presidents and executing presidents have been named for Mayurbhanj 1 and 2 organisational districts. Saishree Patnaik is the new BMJD president for Dhenkanal district and Arati Choudhury is the new executing president of Sundergarh district, Nayak said.
