According to sources, BJP will conduct the ‘chakka jam’ at all national highways and state highways coming under five Lok Sabha and 37 Assembly constituency limits in western Odisha.

BJP had gheraoed the Office of Revenue Commissioner (Sambalpur Division) January 21 and had a discussion with the RDC the following day. The party had then demanded that paddy of the local farmers be procured from the respective mandis by February 7.

Meanwhile, targets of the millers have been enhanced and paddy was procured partially. Alleging against the neglect of the Odisha government and demanding immediate action for procuring the remaining quantities of paddy, the BJP will obstruct vehicular movement from 10.00am to 1.00pm Saturday, party sources said.

Notably, the ‘chakka jam’ will also include all national highways and state highways coming under Athmallik subdivision in Angul.
