Bhubaneswar: Members of BJP and Congress student workers Tuesday faced off at Master Canteen square in Bhubaneswar.

According to a source, stones and cow dung were hurled at each other in presence of police. The situation is said to be under control now. However, who started the ruckus is yet to be known, the source added.

The source further informed that members of the BJP were protesting at Master Canteen Square against the ‘Hindu’ remarks made by Rahul Gandhi in the Lok Sabha Monday.

In a fiery speech in the Lok Sabha Monday, Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi had launched a sharp attack on the ruling BJP, asserting that Hinduism is not about spreading fear, hatred and falsehoods.

Gandhi’s remarks came during a discussion on the Motion of Thanks to the President’s address to a joint sitting of Parliament.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi intervened during Gandhi’s speech, stating that calling the entire Hindu society violent is a serious issue. Gandhi retorted, saying “The BJP and the RSS are not the entire Hindu society”.
