BJP launches website for plaints against govt

Bhubaneswar: Ahead of the general elections, the BJP Wednesday launched state-wide ‘Jabab Maguchi Odisha’ campaign at Baramunda Ground here. The campaign aims at asking questions to the state government regarding various issues and promises made by the state’s ruling party.
The campaign was launched in presence of senior BJP leaders including state president Basant Panda, Union ministers Dharmendra Pradhan and Jual Oram, and KV Singh Deo.
During the event, 70 campaign vehicles called ‘raths’ were rolled out which will cover 70 assembly constituencies to aware people about the alleged failure of the BJD led government. The saffron party has also launched a website http://jababmaguchiodisha.in/ and number 9555227227, through which people can register their questions meant for the BJD government.
The vehicles will be rolled out in all the 147 assembly segments, all sub divisions, blocks and panchayats of the state, said president of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) state president Tankadhar Tripathy.
Tripathy said failures of the state government will be highlighted during the campaign and lies peddled by the BJD through advertisements will be exposed, while allowing people to seek answers to their problems and issues.
Senior BJP leader KV Singh Deo took a potshot at Naveen saying it is a matter of deep sorrow that the state government is failing to complete a number of projects, despite getting all assistance from the Centre.
“The Rs 51,000crore fund which has been planned to be spent on all the panchayats under ‘PEETHA’ scheme is a ‘wasteful expenditure’. Had the money been spent on creating employment opportunities for the youths, it would have been better,” he added.
Panda asked, “When will the state government waive farm loans, provide bonuses to farmers and solve low voltage problem for the farmers?”

Arun Singh to remain Odisha BJP in-charge

New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Wednesday decided to retain national general secretary Arun Singh as the in-charge of its Odisha unit for the upcoming general elections.

According to a statement issued by the BJP, party president Amit Shah Wednesday appointed election in-charges in 17 states and Chandigarh in view of 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

Union Human Resource Development Minister Praskash Javadekar and Sudhanshu Trivedi have been appointed as the in-charges of Rajasthan unit while Swatantra Dev Singh and Satish Upadhyaya were given the command of the Madhya Pradesh unit of the party.

Shah also appointed Union Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Thawar Chand Gehlot as the in-charge of Uttarakhand BJP.
