BJP MLA accuses DM, PD of stalling development

The BJP leaders address a press conference in Balasore, Wednesday

Balasore: BJP leader and Remuna MLA Gobinda Chandra Das alleged that Collector Ramesh Chandra Rout and PD (DRDA) have been throwing spanner in the development work in his constituency at the behest of some political leaders.

Addressing a press meet at the BJP office here Wednesday, Das said Remuna is the only seat in the district which is represented by BJP while the BJD represents six others.

He accused the Collector and the PD of working as spokesperson and manager of the ruling party. He pointed out that both the officers have neglected the representatives of the BJP.

He also said as the Collector belongs to Bhandaripokhari area in Bhadrak, he was made returning officer of his home district.

In the current year, 1600 housing units under Biju Pucca Ghar Yojana were allotted to the district while 14,000 have been distributed, but such units have been distributed in Remuna at their will.

He alleged a discriminatory approach by the officials in execution of schemes and programmes.

Another allegation he made that the core committee formed to conduct elections in the district may tamper EVMs during elections at the instruction of the Collector. He has intimated his allegation to the State Election Commission.

As the election code of conduct is in force, the Collector and the PD refused to make any reaction on these allegations made by Remuna MLA.
