Balasore: Members of the BJP Yuva Morcha staged protests in Balasore Wednesday against deterioration in law and order, flourishing drug trade, increasing cases of atrocities on women, police excesses and women trafficking in the state.
They demanded action against the people involved in the gruesome murder of teacher Mamita Meher in Kalahandi.
Hundreds of BJP’s youth wing activists gheraoed the SP office demanding ouster of Minister of State for Home Dibya Shankar Mishra for his alleged links with Gobinda Sahu, the prime accused in the murder of Mamita Meher.
The agitating BJP workers clamoured for a CBI probe into the murder case to deliver justice to the family of the victim. They shouted slogans against the state government for protecting the minister in the gruesome murder case.

The government is hampering the investigation of the murder case because of a nexus between police and some political leaders. “We demand justice for Mamita.
We will intensify our protests across the state to pressurise the government for expulsion of the minister,” they shouted.
Owing to alleged lethargy of the police and the administration, crime graph in the state is rising while mafia has no fear for laws, BJP workers alleged. They said they would continue with their protests across the state until the minister is removed.
They also alleged that mafia acquires government land and sand in various parts of the state while minor girls are being trafficked to Surat, Chennai and other cities of the country. The law and order has completely collapsed in the state, they alleged. Traffic came to a standstill in Balasore town for five hours as the protesters laid siege to OT Road.
