BJP to hold 5K meetings in a week

Bhubaneswar: The state unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has decided to hold about 5,000 public meetings across the state between March 10 and 17 under Vijay Sankalp Abhiyan.

Speaking to the media, general secretary of state BJP, Prithviraj Harichandan, said that the party will organise 5,000 meetings at several places across 147 Assembly segments to sensitise the public about two main agendas of the Abhiyan.

Firstly, the party will vow to make Narendra Modi the next prime minister in 2019 general elections. Second, the party workers would reach out to people and request them to help BJP uproot the ‘corrupt’ BJD government.

“The corrupt BJD government is ruling in the state for the last 19 years. It is time to dethrone the government and bring a change in the state leadership,” the BJP leader said.

“Though the Modi government sent enough funds to the state under various schemes and programmes, the BJD government failed to utilize it properly,” he said.

“Therefore, there is a need of double-engine government for growth of the state. Actual development in Odisha will only be possible if BJP comes to power both in state as well as at the Centre,” he ascertained.
