Cuttack: Lashing out at the state government for ‘failing’ to provide youths with employment opportunities, hundreds of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), BJP’s youth wing, activists gheraod the Collector’s office here Monday.
The activists, led by BJYM district presidents Jyotyranjan Palai (Cuttack City) and Bhaktabtsala Bastia (Cuttack Sadar), took out a procession from the Judicial Academy Square before culminating at the Collectorate in the afternoon.
The agitating activists performed the ‘last rites of the CM’ in front of the Collector’s office and urged the state’s youths to come forward and play deciding role in the 2019 general elections, a source said.
“The state government’s concern for the youths can be well gauzed from the growing unemployment in the state. Only youths can play an instrumental role in the upcoming elections and pave way for a new dawn,” a BJYM activist claimed.
Several top BJYM leaders including Satyabadi Chaini, Swadhin Mohanty, Shahnawaz Ali, Sushant Behera, Seikh Nasim, Abhijit Mishra, Sarthak Ray, Tapan Lenka and Nabaghana Das took part in the demonstration.
