Black bag in abandoned red car a source of headache for Berhampur police

Berhampur: A red colour car parked in front of Berhampur railway station has been a source of headache for the police here.

For the last couple of months, a red car has been found parked in front of the station. A Red Cross sticker pasted on its rear windshield suggests that the vehicle’s owner must be a doctor. A black bag can be seen lying in the back seat as well, covered in dust.

Thousands of people from Ganjam and other districts come to Berhampur railway station every day. Most of them get terrified seeing the black bag inside the red car as most suspect that there might be a bomb inside the bag.

It still remains to be seen what the bag contains.

Meanwhile, a complaint in this regard has been lodged at the railway police station. Acting on the complaint, the police have already started an inspection of the car and written a letter to the regional transport officer to trace out the owner of the car bearing the registration number OR02- H7747.

“After coming to know from some sources that the car is from Rayagada area, the police have also intimated about the mysterious car to their counterparts in Rayagada,” informed Railway police station IIC, Sukant Bhoi, adding that, “common people should not get panicked seeing the bag inside the car. Once the owner is traced out, things would be clear.”
